Mega Moolah Winners: The Records and the Real Lists

Dean Halvorsen By Dean Halvorsen Updated August 7, 2026 3 winners lists read

Most pages about people who have won Mega Moolah's jackpot carry a list of millionaires that is neither sourced nor verifiable. We took the only record a named institution stands behind, photographed what the casinos themselves display, and then read their live winners lists row by row. The gap between the legend and the lists is the story.

The Biggest Mega Moolah Win on Record

One payout from Mega Moolah has an institution behind it. Guinness World Records lists the largest jackpot ever won on an online slot machine game at €17,879,645, which Guinness converts to $20,062,600 and £13,209,300. It was won by Jon Heywood of the UK on Microgaming's Mega Moolah at Betway on October 6, 2015. On August 7, 2026 we checked the record page, and that entry still stands.

The casinos we review add their own displayed claims. Grand Mondial's homepage has been fronted for years by a photograph of a winner holding a cheque for $1,413,537.73, dated November 15, 2017. Its rotating testimonial goes bigger: "D.P. won a record-breaking $11,610,536.59 on Mega Moolah", with no date attached. Both are the operator's own statements on its own page, which is worth more than a list on an affiliate site and less than a Guinness entry.

There are reports of wins larger than the Guinness figure on sites that list casino winners, some of them crediting this same casino group. The operators' own pages do not document those wins, so this page does not repeat them. Where a claim has a name behind it, we print the name. Where it has none, we leave it out.

What the Casinos' Own Mega Moolah Winners Lists Show

Three of the casinos we hold accounts at publish live winners lists. We read them in early August 2026 the way nobody does: every page, every row. Here is what the lists contained on our reading days.

The most telling entry was on Zodiac's list: "Immortal Romance Mega Moolah, CA$3,173". That is not the jackpot for that game, it is an ordinary slot win, recorded while the network jackpot above it read eight figures. Yukon Gold's homepage ticker made the same point by accident: the biggest win it rotated was CA$40,000, won at live blackjack, at a casino named after the gold rushes.

Why the Winners Lists Hold No Jackpot Winners

The empty jackpot column is honest about the odds, and it follows from the way the lists are made. Each list shows a rolling window of recent wins, mostly from the same day, at one storefront. A Mega Moolah jackpot is hit somewhere on a network that spans many casinos in many countries, on no schedule at all. The odds that today's hit lands inside the one-day window of the one storefront you are reading are tiny, so the lists fill up with what slots actually produce day to day: three, four and five figure wins.

Royal Vegas says this part out loud in its own game guidance: "While some can deliver substantial but infrequent payouts, most games tend towards smaller and more frequent payouts. Either way, it's all down to chance." That is the most honest statement any of these casinos makes about jackpot chasing, and the lists above are what it looks like in data.

So read the winners lists the way we do: as proof that the sites pay real players real money at slot scale, and as proof of nothing at all about your jackpot chances. The pool's own counter, which climbed past $13 million on our screens, is the only live number the jackpot story has. The full price of chasing it, per casino and per withdrawal clause, is on our Mega Moolah casinos page.

Where the Next Mega Moolah Winner Will Play

The next winner of the pool will be standing in one of two lobbies. The four Baytree casinos, led by Jackpot City at a 4.2 score, carry 28 Mega Moolah titles and write a progressive-win exemption into their withdrawal caps. The four Casino Rewards casinos carry 5 titles on the same pool, sell the cheapest entry through Zodiac's $1 deposit, and limit every withdrawal to $4,000 per week. One counter, very different paperwork on the way out, which is why our withdrawals guide compares both groups in full.

Another number belongs next to the dream: the original Mega Moolah slot runs at an 88% payout setting, and the family of games ranges from 86% to 96%. Our progressive jackpot slots chart shows the setting of every title, so at least the price of the ticket is known before the chase begins.

Mega Moolah Winners FAQ

What's the biggest Mega Moolah win ever?

According to Guinness World Records, the largest jackpot won on an online slot machine game was EUR 17,879,645. It was won by Jon Heywood of the UK on Microgaming's Mega Moolah at Betway on October 6, 2015, and the entry had yet to be surpassed when we checked on August 7, 2026. Many websites claim much higher slot payouts, but Guinness is the source that puts its name on one.

Is Mega Moolah a progressive jackpot?

Yes. Every Mega Moolah title feeds one shared network pool, and every casino tile is a window onto the same counter. On August 5 and 6, 2026, all eight Canadian casino tiles we read were above $13 million. The bigger lobby is at the four Baytree casinos, which carry 28 Mega Moolah titles; the Casino Rewards casinos carry 5.

How do you win the Mega Moolah jackpot?

A bonus wheel, triggered at random by the game, decides it. During base play the game can launch its jackpot wheel, which awards one of four tiers: Mini, Minor, Major or Mega. Whatever you do, the certified odds stay the same. The one number you do control is the payout setting of the title you choose to play, which ranges from 86% to 96% across the family.

Do Mega Moolah winners get paid in full?

The terms depend on the casino group. The Baytree casinos specifically exempt progressive wins from their 6x first-deposit cap and their EUR 4,000 weekly cap, which leaves a GBP 10,000 per 24 hours ceiling as the stated limit on a progressive win. The Casino Rewards casinos limit withdrawals to $4,000 per week across the whole group, and do not exempt jackpot wins. Read the clause before you chase the pool.

Did Katrina Bookman ever get paid?

No, and her story has nothing to do with Mega Moolah. In 2016 a slot machine at a land casino in New York displayed a jackpot of around $43 million. The casino called it a malfunction, pointed to the machine's posted maximum payout and did not pay the displayed figure. The machine became famous for that error, which had nothing to do with Mega Moolah and involved no online progressive network.

How This Mega Moolah Winners Data Was Gathered

The record figures come from the Guinness World Records entry for the largest jackpot paid on an online slot machine game, checked on August 7, 2026. The displayed claims were photographed on Grand Mondial's own homepage from our registered account. The winners lists at Grand Mondial, Yukon Gold and Zodiac were read page by page on August 5 and 6, 2026, and the pool values come from the lobby tiles at those casinos, read on the same dates. Casino Classic publishes no winners list, which is why it appears nowhere above. For how the casinos are scored, see how we review.

Play Responsibly

This page exists because winner stories are the industry's best advertising and its least representative data. The lists above show what a normal day actually pays: slot wins in the thousands of dollars, at games that hold back 8 to 14 cents of every dollar over time. Set a limit before you play, hold to it using the casino's own tools, and let the record stay a story you read about someone else.
