Legal Gambling Ages in Canada
The legal age to gamble is set by each province in Canada. It is 18 in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec, and 19 in the rest of the country. Every casino listed on this site checks your age and identity before allowing your first withdrawal, and so do the provincial platforms. You will not find anything on this site that is appropriate for anyone under the legal age for their province.
The Tools the Casinos Actually Offer
We tested the player-protection tooling at every casino we review from our own accounts, and the two big groups differ more than their licences suggest.
At Jackpot City, Spin Casino, Royal Vegas and Ruby Fortune, deposit limits are self-serve. Each of these sites has a Deposit Limits tab inside the cashier, with daily, weekly and monthly caps, and raising a limit only takes effect after a 24-hour delay. These sites also offer the option to take a break from playing for periods starting at 24 hours, self-exclusion for a minimum of six months, and a self-assessment questionnaire on the responsible gambling page.
At Zodiac, Casino Classic, Grand Mondial and Yukon Gold, the same player-protection tools exist, but they are only available through customer support. There is no limits tab in the cashier at any of these casinos, so setting a deposit limit, taking a break from playing or excluding yourself means contacting support and waiting. You should know about this before you deposit, and set any limit while the account is still empty.
One clause deserves its own warning wherever you play: pending withdrawals from these casinos stay reversible for 24 to 48 hours after being requested, which means money you decided to take out can be cancelled back into play with one click. The Rules That Keep It Entertainment
Set a limit on the amount you will deposit before you make the first deposit of the night, sized to what you would spend on any other night out with friends or family. Avoid chasing losses, and avoid gambling with borrowed money or treating a bonus as free: every offer on this site comes with required play, listed on the page that covers it. Decide on the amount you will withdraw and let it leave the casino. And watch for the warning signs of problem gambling, such as gambling with money needed for something else, hiding your play from people close to you, or chasing a jackpot to fix a problem at home.
